A Track athlete with personal bests of: 1.51 for 800m, 3.44 for 1500m, 4.03 for 1 Mile, 8.11 for 3000m.

I first became aware of OOFOS with a spontaneous chat with Giles as he was doing some technical training for the brand with another outdoor store.

I was intrigued as I had noticed a lot of people were starting to wear slides after finishing runs and they seemed to becoming a bit of a fashion accessory with runners!

The reason I was interested in the OOAHH Sport Slides was that this year I had two seperate achillies reconstruction surgeries on my left and my right side. The surgery involved removing the achillies tendon to reshape part of the heel bone that was causing stress on the achillies, then reattaching the achillies tendon back to the bone.

Post surgery was going to be a painful experience for me as I would not be able to wear shoes post surgery due it rubbing on the wound, therefore the Sport Slides seemed a perfect solution.

As I said previously, I had seen a lot of the Sport Slides being worn from runners, which made me initially scepticle as to what was different with the OOFOS OOAHH Sport Slides from the generic Nike, Adidas and other branded Slides.

I was pleasantly surprised when I initially put my foot into the Slide, the cradling effect in the arch area combined with the very soft memory-like foam really gave my foot a luxary cushioned feeling.

Post surgery the OOAHH Slides were the only footwear that I could wear until the wound was fully healed so it proved invaluable to me as it allowed me to start weight-bearing about 2 weeks sooner that what the expected time-scale was.

Fast forward to the present day where I am now 9 months post surgery for my right achillies and almost 3 months post surgery on my left side and I am able to wear shoes on a daily basis without a problem.

I rotate during the day at work into my OOAHH Sport Slides for a couple of hours which I find keep my feet fresh. I am looking forward to getting back into running in December and feel that the OOFOS Slides will play a vital part as I build back up my training.

A recent addition to the OOFOS range has been the OOFOS OOMG Shoe which is a full shoe with the OOFOS Foam, I am intrigued to see how this feels when it is released for Men as it could be a game-changer for those who are on their feet for long periods during the day at work but can't necessarily wear the Slides all day at work!

I hope to bring another post in future with my return to training so watch this space!
